This class will be an interactive experience to read, discuss and reflect on the writings of Thich Nhat Hanh, the Vietnamese Zen Master and peace activist. Participants will have the opportunity to share readings that they have found meaningful in their daily and spiritual life. The focus of each session will be personal responses and insights. Each class will begin and end with a brief meditation. Thich Nhat Hanh is the author of more than 75 books including Being Peace, Peace is Every Step, Breathe You Are Alive and Present Moment,and Wonderful Moment. He has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and continues to teach, write and help refugees world wide. Thich lives in his spiritural community, Plum Village, located near Paris, France.
Jo Ann Mitchell Young PhD, a member of OUUC, is a former classroom teacher and psychotherapist in private practice in Olympia. She has been a follower of the works of Thich Nhat Hanh for the past 15 years.
